Infiniti
Infiniti is the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. It officially began selling vehicles on November 8, 1989, in North America. The brand was created in response to the success of Japanese rivals Honda and Toyota, which had launched their own luxury divisions, Acura and Lexus, respectively.
Initially, Infiniti focused on performance-oriented sedans like the Q45, aiming to compete with established European and American luxury brands. Over the years, the brand expanded its lineup to include coupes, SUVs, and crossovers, often sharing platforms and technologies with Nissan vehicles but with enhanced styling, features, and performance. While Infiniti has enjoyed success in certain markets, particularly in North America, it has faced challenges in establishing a distinct brand identity and consistently matching the sales figures of its main competitors.
Infiniti's design language has evolved considerably over time, with recent models showcasing a more expressive and dynamic aesthetic. The brand is also increasingly focused on electrification, with plans to introduce hybrid and all-electric vehicles in the coming years as part of Nissan's broader electrification strategy.
