Jaguar
Jaguar, a British luxury car manufacturer, boasts a rich and storied history dating back to 1922, although it was originally founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company (SS Cars Ltd) by William Lyons and William Walmsley. The Jaguar name was first introduced in 1935 on a series of models built by SS Cars. After World War II, SS Cars was renamed Jaguar Cars in 1945 to disassociate itself from the wartime connotations of 'SS'.
Post-war, Jaguar quickly established itself as a maker of stylish and high-performance vehicles, achieving particular success with its sports cars like the XK120 and E-Type. These models combined performance with elegant design, becoming icons of the automotive world. Throughout its history, Jaguar has changed ownership several times, being part of British Motor Corporation (BMC), British Leyland, Ford, and currently Tata Motors, since 2008. Despite these changes, Jaguar has maintained a strong brand identity, synonymous with luxury, performance, and distinctive British design.
The company continues to produce a range of luxury sedans, sports cars, and SUVs, embracing electrification and new technologies while striving to uphold its heritage of style and driving experience. From its early days of coachbuilt bodies to its current focus on modern, high-tech vehicles, Jaguar remains a significant player in the luxury automotive market.
