Ferrari
Ferrari, officially Ferrari S.p.A., is an Italian luxury sports car manufacturer based in Maranello, Italy. Founded in 1939 by Enzo Ferrari out of the racing division of Alfa Romeo under the name Auto Avio Costruzioni, the company built its first car in 1940. However, Ferrari's official founding is generally recognized as 1947, when the first Ferrari-badged car, the 125 S, was completed. The company quickly established itself in motorsport, particularly Formula One, where it remains the oldest and most successful team.
Early Ferraris were predominantly racing cars, but road cars were soon produced to finance the Scuderia Ferrari racing team. These early road cars, often grand tourers, were characterized by their powerful V12 engines and elegant styling. Over the decades, Ferrari has produced a diverse range of models, from high-performance sports cars to limited-production hypercars, all defined by their performance, exclusivity, and distinctive design. Key innovations in engine technology, aerodynamics, and materials have consistently pushed the boundaries of automotive engineering, solidifying Ferrari's position as a global icon.
In the 21st century, Ferrari has adapted to changing market demands while maintaining its core values. The company has embraced hybrid technology, producing models that offer both extreme performance and improved efficiency. Furthermore, while maintaining its heritage of performance sports cars, Ferrari has entered the SUV market with the Purosangue, demonstrating a willingness to evolve while staying true to its brand identity.
